Movie It Like a Pro

Paul Taylor talks with Sports Science Manager, Jason Weber, about the balance of  creating routines and mental agility professional athletes need to succeed.  Likewise, finding a balance of isolated and integrated methods of training for a more complete physical agility.

I’m always looking for great workout videos that are free on Youtube and feature integrated exercises.

Two of my favorite are the Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred series and BodyRock.TV videos.  Jillian’s workouts are about 30 minutes long with cardio-weights-abs integration.  She creates these videos to meet a large audience’s needs.  Equipment: some dumbbells

BodyRock is an intense 6-12 minute workout designed to work every muscle group with limited equipment.  They have awesome workouts, although the camera angels can be a bit annoying.  They have a very specific body-type of women in their workouts which can be a little off-putting.  Still, it’s a great workout that is fast and can be accessed from anywhere on most mobile devices.  The series is created for a younger demographic, but can be adjusted easily. Equipment: varies, usually a sandbag but nothing you can’t make yourself.

There is also a pretty low quality Insanity 20 minute work out that doesn’t have pretty lighting but is an awesome workout without a huge time commitment.  In other words, it gets the job done if you don’t have time, equipment, or a gym membership.

Give them a try and let me know what you think.  Post some of your favorite videos in the comments or on the Fitbit Forum.
